(NB the home clothes could be a long skirt, trousers or traditional shalwar and khameez.) ANSWER: Assalamu alaykum In the name of Allah, the Inspirer of truth It is not necessary to wear a jilbab in prayer. As long as the clothes she is wearing covers her awra properly, which is the whole body except the face, hands and feet, it would be permissible to pray in them.
