Dear Seeker of Knowledge,
- Have you been sporadically going to halaqas for years, but have little or nothing to show for it?
- Do you crave a serious course that doesn’t seem like a “guilty conscience assuager” but actually teaches you something?
- Do you want to go beyond the numerous lectures/conferences but don’t know where to go?
- Do you want an organized curriculum, with textbooks, punctual, regular sessions, a clear path and a beginning and an end-goal?
- Are you looking for a program that already teaches the advanced stages of the language to dozens of students so you can feel safe that when you get there, it will not stop prematurely?
- Have you been raised here and can’t access courses in foreign languages? Do you constantly dream of going overseas for Islamic education but don’t have the time/money/freedom-from-responsibility to do so?
If you answer, “Yes!” to any of these questions, then I want to invite you to seriously consider this special and time-sensitive opportunity.
Here’s what it’s all about:
The Shariah Program is a totally unique and powerful online learning experience that literally rewires your ability to read and comprehend classical Arabic in the shortest amount of time possible so that you can finally understand and appreciate what the linguistic miracle of the Qur’an is all about.
It’s the ONLY online course of its kind that respects your passion for connecting with the Qur’an and gives you measurable results each and every week with a 90-Day unconditional guarantee.
By accepting my invitation and joining this community of advanced and sophisticated seekers (600+ every semester and growing), you too will learn years of scholarly Arabic in a matter of weeks.
Meet Your Personal Teacher
Your teacher is Mufti Yusuf Mullan (That’s me). I’m the founder and head instructor of the Shariah Program.
SIDENOTE: I feel uncomfortable reaching all around to pat myself on the back so here’s what one student had to say about me as part of his review he posted at our message board a couple of years ago:
“The instructor himself. Scholars and students attest to his genius. I’ve never met an alim so passionate and so comprehensive in his knowledge of the language: he’s like an encyclcopaedia! Not only that, but he’s actually a good teacher. Most teachers, especially teachers of Islamic subjects, tend to ‘present’ the subject and ‘kindly’ leave it to the student to learn. This results in only the highly motivated learning. 70-80% of the class don’t learn. In contrast, Mufti Yusuf will question you, test you and will demand participation. This may put off or even intimidate some, but I love it! Why? Because it forces me to learn – I’ve no choice; it’s motivating and it shows that the teacher truly wants me to learn”.
This student (who also happens to be a qualified teacher) goes on to say:
“In many large institutions the senior shaykh often designs the syllabus and may give a few live sessions but the majority of the teaching is by junior teachers who aren’t as advanced or as thorough. When you graduate from a level, you get a new teacher – whose style or personality may not be as good as the previous one. The Shariah Program is unique in that we have the priviliege of having Mufti Yusuf – the designer and senior expert – not only teaching every lesson, but taking the time to even lead the mundane memorisation sessions. He has dedicated himself fully to the course so as a student you feel very privileged”.
But it’s not just the teacher. Though having a strong passion for what you do does help, it’s really not about me or any other teacher.
More so, I would say, it’s the curriculum and it’s the teaching methodology. Both have been effective in teaching non-Arabs how to understand and properly appreciate the Qur’an from the times of the Sahaba.
FIRST, Let’s Begin With The Problem You’re Facing. Here’s the problem: if you’re reading this page, chances are you’ve spent a considerable amount of time searching for the right course to help you get to where you need to be. Like a good number of our existing students, you might have taken some university/college level Arabic courses or you’ve purchased numerous text-books and home-study products most of which are collecting dust on the bookshelf.
What you’re finding is that the teachers cannot teach in your preferred style, or that there’s too much memorization and too much disorganization. You find yourself getting burnt out very quickly, or the course is just too slow moving and spends too much time on irrelevant details. If it’s a home-study product, then there’s no proper presentation of the grammar and essential theory…
You end up frustrated and down a few thousand dollars. You waste a few months of your time.
Here’s a short email message sent to me by an older brother that has been at this for the last 5 years:
*Previously, I attended a part-time Madrassah, teachers were unable to teach in English and the progress was very slow. No Tarkeeb or parsing was taught for Qasass. Had to give up after a year and half.
*Tried Rosetta Stone, £375:00, zero grammar, waist of time and money.
*Tried ArabicPod101 for three days, pure rubbish.
*Tried several evening classes in Birmingham, for the last five years, progress was extremely slow, the result was not impressive, received neither joy nor satisfaction.
*I am very much impressed with your method of teaching and supporting download notes on Surf and Nahw which are very helpful.
*Your first video on Qasas lesson-1 is sufficient to convince me that I have wasted my last five years searching for something that would take me to proficiency in understanding Qur’anic Arabic…
*If my progress is continuously satisfactory, then I am your student for life (at present I am 72+). (Mohammad Yunus Khan)
I cannot promise that the Shariah Program will be that program that finally gets YOU to where you need to be but what I can do is explain what it does, and how exactly it does it. Based on the experience of previous students, I can also give you some idea of what kind of results you can expect for yourself if you stick with the program.
But before I tell you about the program, let me tell you about the guarantee that backs it up, because I think it’s important that you know how committed I am to you.. more than anything else I think it’s this guarantee that tells you more about who I am and what I do than anything I can say.
Bottom line is if you choose to try the program, you will have 90 full days to see for yourself that the program is just right for you. There is absolutely no risk to you in joining. The only risk would be if you choose to pass on this offer and wait for a time when I am no longer accepting any students.
Having said that, I’ll now tell you what we do. The approach we use is both obvious and revolutionary. Let me explain what I mean by that:
Here’s How We Do Mind Blowing Amounts in Mere Days: The “Better than Harvard” Advantage
You see, a primary aspect of the Shariah Program curriculum is a principle called the 80/20 Rule Squared. This is at the heart of the curriculum.
Not all rules and lessons are created equal. In fact, the “80/20 Rule” states that you can expect 20% of your efforts to give you 80% of all the benefits you ultimately achieve.
The Arabic language is no different. It has a very clear core which consists of roughly 20% of all the rules in the 3 sciences of Grammar (nahw), Morphology (sarf) and Rhetoric (balagha).
The rules that belong to this 20% core have the broadest application by far. These are the fundamentals of Arabic that you would expect to encounter in practically every sentence.
But within this 20% core, there is an even DENSER inner-core which we call the “Core-4″. Without getting caught up in math, re-applying the “80/20 Rule” with the 20% core, we get an inner core of no more than 4% of all the total rules in the 3 sciences. This 4% inner core accounts for over half of all benefits!
You’ll Have Covered This Inner-Core In The First 3 Weeks Of Classes!
And it is the ability to properly capitalize on this very concept that allows students in our program to grow at an exponential rate. A sister who studied Arabic at Harvard university and subsequently at our intensive puts it best:
“…..Because of that, in one day of class I learned more than I learned in an entire _year_ of Harvard…. What you need in a class is someone to explain to you how the language WORKS…. In only a few days of the Shariah Program, people were starting to read Arabic fluently … they had already learned what each part of the sentence was, like: this is a past tense verb/this is a noun/ this is a command to a man/ this is an adjective referring to the feminine noun). That does _not_ happen in university Arabic until well after the first full year….”
Yes, properly capitalizing on the “80/20 rule squared” allows our students to learn mind blowing amounts of proper and well-structured Arabic in mere days. This is what makes the Shariah Program unique and its curriculum one of the most sought-after in the Western world.
Setting The Stage in The First 3 Weeks of Classes:
The most dense 4% of all rules are taught in the opening 3 weeks of class! Within the first 3 weeks, you will have already been taught thoroughly how the language works. This is extremely powerful. It is not done from any text book. It is done by carefully isolating the core, and more importantly, suppressing and ignoring what does not belong to the core.
Rest of Semester 1 Reinforces The Core:
Reading from actual Arabic books begins gradually from the 3rd week of class. While reading and translating is taking place, simultaneously, the next most important set of rules is taught. The reading text is leveraged fully to not only build vocabulary, but also introduce grammar and morphology.
Just to give you an idea, here’s a short glimpse of the timeline for your education:
- After Week 3: You’ll be reading from Qasas al-Nabiyin (the Stories of the Prophets), an Arabic book for children.
Here’s what this means for you in the words of one student:
“Reading a real Arabic text from week 3 is amazing. I can’t emphasise how beneficial this is. I’ve studied grammar points for years through countless texts, but within a few weeks I had more benefit in the Shariah Program as the grammar comes to life. It is also highly motivating to be able to see yourself able to read an Arabic book”.
- By the end Semester 1: You’ll have already mastered the science of Arabic Morphology which accounts for roughly 30% of ALL comprehension. And you’ll have covered the inner and outer core pertaining to Grammar I spoke about just now. You’ll know all of this very well. What this means is you can stop right here and come out with more than what others gain after a decade of self study.
- Early in Semester 2: You’ll be reading Arabic texts without any harakat – that’s right, no fatha, kasra, or dhamma training wheels needed for this ride.
- By the end Semester 2: You’ll have covered what I consider the best book in the world for grammar: a 132 page classical text called Hidayah an-Nahw. And you’ll have already begun the study of Qur’anic balagha (eloquence).
- Early in Year 2: You’ll have half of your classes taught to you in Arabic. You’ll be asking your own questions in clear, easy to understand Arabic.
- By the End of Year 2: You’ll have not only torn through multiple books in Arabic grammar AND tafsir, you’ll have covered logic, advanced balagha, books on adab, and much more.
The course has been running for 9 years and students who previously struggled with Arabic for years at universities, Madrasas and “Do it yourself courses” have finally found what they were looking for. Here’s what some of them have to say.
“This is my third series of Arabic classes. I’ve previously attended an Islamic school for three years, and I also took a year of Arabic classes in college, and I can honestly say that I’ve learned far more here in three months than I did in my four prior years in Arabic instruction. Not only that, but what I have learned I am also able to understand and recall far better than anything I learned from my other attempts at learning the language.
“This is truly a remarkable system, Mashallah. I was somewhat skeptical that the course would be as good as I had heard, but it definitely exceeded my expectations. Everything that is taught is taught in an amazingly efficient manner, with each issue being brought up multiple times, with each instance increasing the depth of the discussion at a controlled rate, so that by the time a subject is taught in exhaustive detail, the subject will already have been brought up multiple times. It really just flows”. (Farhad Akbari, March 2011)
You Get A Superior Curriculum Tailored to Your Specific Needs.
First of all, understand that there are different types of learners. Some people learn by watching. Others learn by listening and concentrating. Others learn by reading and flipping pages. And so on.
A large number of students fail to see any results from courses because the course doesn’t cater to their style of learning. They might not even realize their own style of learning and get all mixed up in a course that’s just not for them… and was never going to help them from the beginning.
Shariah Program won’t do that to you. The entire course is structured to cater to your learning style. Visual learners will appreciate the sentence diagrams I will be drawing for you almost every lecture, others will appreciate the practice and drills and quizzing… and like that there’s something for everyone in this rich environment.
Here’s How We Make Absolute Sure You’re Getting What’s Right for You:

- Pre-recorded Video Lectures: You’ll watch pre-recorded video lectures before class. This is great because it means you can learn at your pace and get a handle on topics before class with other students even starts. The lectures contain point-form notes on the screen and diagrams, charts, tables. This is fantastic if you learn by watching and listening.
- Audio Files: There’s also the benefit of related audio files. You can listen to these as you work at home or in your car to save time and still keep up with the material. This is if you learn by listening and don’t want the distraction of references to charts and stuff.
- Slides & Transcriptions: You get professionally transcribed lectures in PDF and slides in PPT. This is if you learn by reading and following charts and diagrams on your own and you like flipping through pages.
- Classes are Recorded & Archived: All live classes are recorded and available for you to download and listen whenever you want. So if you don’t like taking notes, you won’t have to worry about missing any details.
- Helpful Resources: You have an enormous amount of documentation like vocabulary lists, verb charts, sentence structure diagrams, exercise sheets, review sheets, and just so much material you won’t even know what to do with. All this is prepared by previous students and is available to you on the school message board as supplementary aids.
- Alternative Class Timings: Even classes have two timings: one for North American time zones and one for Europeans. This gives you a backup in case you miss your class.
Now second of all, so many students either fail to see results from the courses they’re taking, or they just get burnt out and fall off the wagon.
The reasons for this are numerous, but mainly they all have to do with the teaching methods of those courses. You can’t expect Halaqas or short-term courses to focus too much on didactics… they just don’t have that luxury.
At Shariah Program, though, the way we teach is as important as what we teach, we take didactics and pedagogy very seriously to make sure you learn properly and that you keep going. Here’s how the teaching method is different from what you’ve experienced in the past and how it makes sure you see results and you never lose steam.
- Complex Topics are Introduced Early & Elaborated on Gradually: You will be exposed to advanced topics early on in a very easy way. Then you will revisit these topics over and over, with more detail each time along with sufficient practice. This gradual progression is very powerful and allows you to devour huge amounts of advanced material very quickly without even realizing what you’re doing. You see the results in front of your very eyes.
Here’s a quick comment I got in a private email just today that talks about covering complex topics:
“I am listening to the HN recording of the live session where you are explaining the special mubtada where a sifa occurs as a mubtada. I have listened to this so many times, but every time I listen to it, it gets my full attention. And I can’t stop getting impressed each time when I listen to this – Many a times when I listen to the recordings, I get this feeling, but I don’t share this with you because I may appear to be fawning. Today, I felt a strong desire to share this with you – Masha Allah and JzkAllah for all the intensity and the elegant explanations (I really love the intensity in your voice when you explain something complex – in fact, when I heard this intensity in your voice in the first recording of yours when I was sampling the course, I decided to join and I just love that change in tone – not sure how many people notice it, but I notice it every time)”. (Sirajuddeeen Shamsuddeen)
- Lessons are Intensive but Kept Manageable: You will learn a lot every week, but everything is kept manageable. You see, many courses give you all the details of a topic up front. Or they introduce irrelevant details. Or they skimp on details that would empower your understanding and analytical skills. In this course, we revisit topics often so you internalize all concepts thoroughly and naturally. We develop proper analytical skills so you retain what you learn and gain insights. And we don’t get burnt out.
- You’ll Put Everything to Practice in Real-Time: So many courses, especially Madrasas, are guilty of the following. They’ll cover an entire book on Arabic grammar without any practice. This just burns you out and you don’t see any results. In this course, as soon as you learn something, you put it to practice immediately. Your main mode of practice will be the Stories of the Prophets book, which you can use to make sure you’re learning boat-loads every week. This helps your grammar rules come to life every week and you’ll see results in real-time.
- 50% Arabic Medium: Later in the course, 50% of your classes will be in Arabic.
- You’ll Have Goals & a Roadmap: Everything you learn is logically calculated… What are the goals? What should be taught in order to achieve them? In how much detail? When should concepts be introduced? It’s all well thought out and available to you. In fact, I refer to this roadmap often. You’ll be able to see where you are, where your goals are taking you and you can verify your progress against this roadmap every week.
- Memorization is Very Minimal: In this course, the way it works is that you have to do very little memorization. That’s because you will focus on understanding the meat of a topic. You’ll develop analytical skills and understand the big picture. Once you have that, memorization becomes irrelevant… you see things differently.
Next it’s important you know that although this is an online course, You Are Not Alone. It’s really a “community” thing, with student groups and lots of interaction with fellow students and myself. You’ll have plenty of practice to keep you motivated throughout this long journay.
“A forum which is actually alive and kicking! Most forums on other online learning institutions are dead, with only TAs and the occasional motivated student contributing. Here, posts are regular and you see an army of senior students who are shining proofs of the course itself. Mufti Yusuf himself is the most regular contributer; despite all the demands on his time, it never ceases to amaze me how promptly he returns any email, private message or post. Allah preserve him!”
- Participation is Highly Encouraged: No one achieves their goals in a straight line; many course corrections (mistakes) have to be made. But the faster and more often you make these mistakes, the faster you will see results. Therefore, you will participate in class by reading texts in front of the teacher and have your mistakes corrected each and every week. This will ensure you understand all grammatical concepts introduced in lecture and are able to analyze and translate sentences.
- You’ll be Drilled in Front of the Teacher: You will participate in verb table recitation to ensure that you understand exactly how verbs are conjugated and how morphophonemic rules are applied.
Again, this is something students often highlight in their reviews:
Weekly verb table recitation practice. This bowled me over. I’ve not seen a single course (outside traditional madrassas) that does this. It’s brilliant – it forces you to learn. I remember one lesson, where I didn’t learn the tables in advance, I felt so embarassed with my performance that I memorised in 10 mins what I hadn’t been able to memorise in the previous 2 years! This is the power of the class. Those who argue that knowledge of the verb tables needn’t be so thorough should ponder on the difference between a maths student who knows their multiplication tables inside out, compared with someone who struggles, needs to use their fingers or even a calculator. The difference is clear.
- Quizzes by Senior Students: Quizzing is dealt with by the instructor in tutorials and by senior students on the message board. This provides you with continuous, real-time feedback.
- Eureka-Moment Study Sessions: Students are encouraged to create study groups in the virtual classroom space outside of class time. We’ve noticed that this has given students a huge boost in the past and serves as a spawning ground for eureka moments. You’ll always be encouraged to work hard, get help, help others and participate in the community.
- Full Accountability System: Students are expected to provide weekly reports on their progress. This ensures your progress is always visible to the head master, you get all the help you need designed specifically for you, and you never fall off the bandwagon.
- Calculated Breaks: You’ll have time to digest new course material, review, and look ahead based on a 4-weeks-on-1-week-off schedule plus a 5 week break for Ramadan and a 2 week break for Eid and Hajj.
- We Never Let You Fail (All the Help You Need): Not only am I available to answer all your questions, but the message board is open 24/7 for you to ask. Someone (either myself or a senior student) will answer your questions within a few hours of your post. And, in the past, senior students have always been available to help the juniors as much as they need, even in extra sessions in the virtual classroom. You’ll always be safe.
- We Never Lose Steam: The course has been kicking for 9 years with more students applying than registration permits. The teachers are dedicated, inspiring and even very funny and light-hearted. Students are always kept engaged, motivated, they learn tons every week and are encouraged to apply their knowledge constantly with real-time feedback and calculated progression… whew, that was a mouthful, but it’s what makes the difference between Shariah program and everything else.
Here’s one further point of difference expressed in the words of the same student who I quoted from earlier:
“The absence of tedious testing and exercises. In all the courses I’ve been on, fellow students and I have quickly lost motivation due to falling behind the onslaught of weekly tests. Just the act of creating complex tables and typing in Arabic takes hours. The Shariah Program replaces all this needless testing by focussing on the reading and understanding of the concepts; in the live sessions you are then tested verbally. Written tests are given, but only after a part of the curriculum has been thoroughly covered, and these are only every few months or so. As Mufti Yusuf says: ‘Having exercises is a proof that it (the course) is deficient’”. (Tushar, 2010 Student)
Here’s what it will do for you…
Ok, I’ve given you a taste of what we have in store for you when you join the March 2012 classes, but let me assure you that I’ve left A LOT more unsaid than said.
Still, the bullet points above should be more than enough for you to make an intelligent decision on whether or not this program is right for you. But before you decide one way or the other, I want to draw your attention to some comments submitted by a 3rd year student. Our program only runs for 2 years, but this student as well as dozens of others like her choose to keep studying with us beyond 2 years.
They re-do portions of the 2nd year, again and again.
Her comments are noteworthy because she talks about her entire journey and her overall experience spanning more than 2 and a half years.
“I am currently a 3rd year student at Shariah Program and thought that sharing my experience and what I have learned so far would be appropriate and helpful for many others.
“The part of my Shariah Program experience that I would like to share is when and how things became clear. I remember in the beginning I was only able to read and understand texts that were being covered in the course and that’s it, very little beyond that while covering qasas and HN, both being key components to our learning. Once they had begun settling in the mind due to their constant application everywhere else, things started to become clearer. It must have been near the end of the 7-8 months when I was making istikhaara for something, and while I was reading the dua, I realized that I understood it, all of it! I did not need to go to the translation This might be an easy task for many already, but I was never able to understand what I was saying before nor did I even try to match the English with Arabic. Understanding Surah Kaafirun once during salaah was another time of joy, I knew that surah from before but the clarity of it this time was amazing! Some duas and few parts of the quran became clear by then.
“Then I believe we did the tafseer component of the course and covering just 1 juz with tarkeebs and tafseer opened another huge gate for understanding majority of the Quran (basic translation). I remember that following Ramadan, I would prepare a juz each night before taraweeh focusing on iraab, scanning through the english if need and then stand with so much happiness and gratefulness as I listened to it being recited. I was able to follow every word alhamdullillah! (Prep. took a good 2 hrs or more each day)
“I remember that still I could not understand many of the unfamiliar duas our Imaam recited during witr for the qunoot.
“Then we covered some of ibn Aqeel, which I could not have done without, it was a grammar book taught for the purpose of fluency in Arabic reading, and it did just that! I found myself placing Iraab on the words without much thought and understanding and learning more grammar along the way!
“As we moved forward we were introduced to the Arabic only sessions by Shaykh Shams, which were truly challenging and time consuming in the beginning (like 3-4 sessions) after that it became easier and easier and this brought another clarity in Arabic, which is listening. Then when Mufti Yusuf (May Allah reward him immensely and preserve him) stopped to read footnotes or other tafasir in various books, it became much easier to follow alhamdulillah. This Ramadan I was even able to understood all of the duas made in Arabic every night, even the really long ones! alhamdulillah, saying ameen was at another level now, it was with actual sincerity. Local masjid halaqa’s with Arabic here and there is crisp and clear alhamduillah.
“Recently we have started a new text in Balagha called “Muktasar al Maa’ni”. At the first glimpse of it I felt that I haven’t learned Arabic at all lol it was a difficult start, looking at it I wasn’t sure if I should quit actually. I decided to stick around and give it a try. And mashaAllah Mufti Yusuf really knows the material so well and prepares it so well! He breaks it down for us and makes it so interesting and we learn so much every session that now it’s hard to do without! It’s challenging, as is everything in the beginning and what makes it easier is listening to each recording prepared by Musti Yusuf twice as he recommends. Listening to it the second time really sheds a lot of light! Then we are given an opportunity to read it back to him and ask questions, which really gets the information engrained into our minds! I am really excited to learn from this text, it will help us to recognize the miracle behind each word of the Quran, that’s amazing and I can see by the beginning of the book already that it’s going to be super useful! I had never imagined coming so far so quickly to the level where we are able to understand and cover material that most students don’t even get exposed to! Alhamdulillah
“During my study, there have been MANY improvements made to the course, (screen casts, edited slides, notes, other helpful materials added by many students etc.) I am sure if one was to start the program now, they would be able to attain much more and MUCH quicker inshaAllah!
“May Allah reward immensely our teachers and the students that have made this course easy, effective and a source of light for many, ameen”.

Some Additional “Special Features” That Will Help You Along The Way
Now here are some of the ways in which we help you if you suddenly get busy at work, have a baby, or whatever else may come your way (we really want you to reach your goal)… here’s the list
- All Course Material Available When You Need It: All lecture videos, audio files, transcripts, slides, sentence diagrams, verb charts, vocabulary lists, etc are available for you to download and keep. So if you’re going to be away… first let the instructor know… then you can either work ahead at your own speed, or play catch up when you get back and rejoin the class. It’s that easy.
- Ability to Temporarily Move to Self-Paced Mode: If you’re going to be absent for an extended period of time, the 2-year course has a self-paced version which you can switch to. Granted, you won’t have live practice or all the other benefits of the main class, but it’s a way for you to keep yourself connected and not lose touch while you’re gone.
- Ability to Retake Previous Semesters: If you ever feel you need to take a step back to strengthen your knowledge, you will be able to join semesters prior to yours and drop down a level like that… at half the normal costs. Then work your way back up stronger and more educated than ever before.
But the most powerful weapon you will have against falling behind or losing focus is the inspiring, motivational, engaging, and empowering lectures that are based upon the 80/20 Rule SQUARED I spoke to you about earlier. To the best of my knowledge, no other program structures its curriculum in this manner.
From all that you’ve read above, there should be no question about what the Shariah Program will do for your comprehension and ability to appreciate the Qur’an once the program is completed.
After all, it’s worked for hundreds of other students. Here are some comments left behind by former students:
“Contrast that with the traditional, time-tested way that developed of teaching arabic to non-arabs as islam spread to non-arab countries. This is what the Shariah Program in toronto uses and I TOTALLY WHOLE-HEARTEDLY (not shouting, just gushing) recommend it to anyone who wants to learn to read arabic in general (for any purpose … Because of that, in one day of class I learned more than I learned in an entire _year_ of harvard al kitaab-style arabic”. (Asma, 2006 Intensive Student)
“The whole course is logically mapped out. It’s so refreshing to be able to know what your start and end point is. You can literally see all the recordings and handouts coming your way; you interact with students in the year above you, and the instructor constantly refers to this road map. Thus, you feel safe on this long journey – you have a guide who clearly knows the way, and many supportive, knowledgeable fellow travellers accompanying. Other courses don’t come close just on this point alone”. (Tushar, 2010 Online Student)
“I don’t know of anything comparable being offered elsewhere in Canada or the US in English. WHAT YOU COVER IN THIS COURSE IS WHAT PEOPLE GO OVERSEAS TO SYRIA, PAKISTAN AND ELSEWHERE FOR. I spent 9 months in Damascus studying Arabic and this course is better organized and more thorough, and you can take it without quitting your job. If this had been offered then I wouldn’t have needed to go (for the Arabic-there are benefits to being in a Muslim country). And once you finish you’ll have a solid foundation to go abroad and study further”. (Waqar, 2003 Local Student)
Also, please read the small sampling of reviews we’ve separated to the right side of this page. Many more can be seen here, here and here.
How much will it cost?
You’re probably wondering how much you’re going to invest to join this program. Ok, here goes (without the usual “beating around the bush”)…
The Fee To Attend The Live Classes from
March 2012 Is $1,994 Per Year
BUT KEEP READING… AS YOU’RE ABOUT TO SEE YOU WON’T NEED TO INVEST THAT FULL AMOUNT TODAY (OR POSSIBLY EVER!)
Now if you notice, I didn’t do a long, drawn out price justification.
That’s because if your initial reaction was anything other than “Wow, that’s A LOT less than I thought it would be…”
…then chances are you aren’t ready and you don’t qualify.
First of all, please appreciate that students in our classes routinely report receiving a better understanding of the language in just the first 3 weeks of class with us than an entire year or more of study at Western universities. Here’s one of many unsolicited remarks that flood my inbox daily:
“alhamdulillah I feel like I’m getting much more than my money’s worth and really your program is the answer to my dua’s of wanting to learn arabic seriously. I used to read the website and the testimonials and think that it was all just hype to get people to sign up, but now I can’t stop gushing about it to other people I know having similar problems as I had with finding the right course. Within the 7-8 weeks of recordings you have summed up what I have learned with 3-4 years of part time studies and more, and I’ve understood the concepts much more clearly than before. So I just wanted to say jazakallah for offering the course as I’m really excited to see what else I learn as I go on inshallah”. (Fariha Siddiquie, May 2011 student in first semester)
In the first semester of Year 1 ALONE you will cover 7 primary courses (plus others):
- Introductory Grammar
- Intermediate Grammar
- Introductory Morphology
- Intermediate Morphology
- Advanced Morphology
- Introductory Reading & Vocabulary
- Intermediate Reading & Vocabulary

And you’ll get all the resources (videos, MP3s, slides, transcripts, forum access, live tutorials, lectures, etc) I mentioned before. You get over 50 hours of my best training that I’ve spent the last 9 years perfecting.
Other Institutes Will Charge You an Average of $2,625 USD for These 7 Courses
$375 x 7 = $2,625 USD
As what I described above is only what we teach in our first 6 months – not the entire first year, you should double that ($5,250.00) to get the value of what we teach in the entire first year.
But remember, the mission of the Shariah Program is to “empower serious students of the Arabic language to complete their Arabic studies so they can succeed in appreciating the miracle of the Qur’an in its original Arabic”, and I can’t fulfill on that mission if I’m charging $375 per course or $5,250.00 per year…
That’s why I decided to price the 2-Year online program at a price that I know literally anyone can afford it…
The Price Will be Decided by You, The Student…
What does that mean? It means that if you’re not reading Arabic books by week 3-4, reading books without vowels by the end of semester 1, or you’re not learning ridiculous amounts of Arabic with eye-popping results in what you thought were impossibly short time periods…
… then it won’t cost you a penny. That’s because, if the program is not just right for you, you’ll notice that and you won’t stay enrolled for more than 90 days. And you will take advantage of the 90-day unconditional, no hassle, no questions, no delays 100% tuition + books + everything refund guarantee (see below).
On the other hand, if you find yourself rapidly progressing to your goals faster than you ever imagined possible, and you begin making use of our screen cast videos, transcriptions, diagrams and 24/7 forum support, then all of this (7 primary courses taught to you in the first 6 months alone) will cost you a Single Affordable Payment of $797 (will gradually increase to $997 as early-registration incentives expire), giving you access to 6 months worth of material and 2 live sessions weekly with the instructor. Prepay for the entire year and save an additional $300 (just $1,297 for all of Year 1). Please see the section below that details the exact bonuses you’ll be getting for early registration.
Also, we encourage you to check out other programs before deciding on ours. Other institutes also have fine services and sometimes it is hard to decide until you take their systems for a trial run, just as you did this with our system. After all, you are the best judge of quality.
Tuition Breakdown
- Year One Live: Our Year One batch will have access to all materials described above for $797 per each 6-month period. This amount will gradually increase to $997 as the early-registration incentives expire.
- Year One Self-Study: We realize some of you want to study at your own pace and cannot commit to the live portions of our program. For students like yourself, you’ll have access to all materials minus live practice with the instructor for $497 for the entire year.
Click Here to Expand/Hide Additional Details About the Self-Paced Version of the Program - Year Two Live: The Year Two batch will have 5 – 6 hours of live sessions at $166 / month. At this stage, there is no self-study program

*this chart lists the normal costs associated to each level of registration (not including early-registration incentives and bonuses). “Entry” refers to the most basic self-paced version of the program (everything EXCEPT live access to the instructor). As you can see, the self-paced option is 4 times less expensive than regular year 1 costs. If you’re interested in attending live classes from March 2012, PLEASE READ ON.
Early-Bird Bonuses: Save close to $1,500.00 in tuition costs and books
WAIT & BE LOCKED OUT. Based on what we’ve seen in the past, the overwhelming majority of the no more than 250 seats sell out in the first month of opening registration. A lot of this has to do with the significant savings early registrants receive. The bonus package I’ve put together below is by far the most valuable ever offered for early-registration.
EARLY REGISTRATION DISCOUNTS & INCENTIVES EXPIRE @
MIDNIGHT ON TUESDAY NOVEMBER 15TH.
HIGHER FEES will be in place for ALL registrations after this date – no exceptions. Also the convenient 3-monthly installment EZ-Pay is available only until November 15th.
- Bonus 1: You’ll receive an instant registration discount of $200. You pay $797 for the first semester (March 2012-October 2012) instead of the regular tuition of $997.
- Bonus 2: Your second bonus is 5 months access to all of our content ($207.08 value) at no extra charge as you wait for the classes to formally begin. This is by far the biggest bonus you’re getting in terms of what it will do for you as our program does move quickly. The more you can cover BEFORE March 2012, the stronger position you will be in when the live classes actually begin. You can begin learning immediately through our videos and other content (described above) from now until the start-date of March 25. This is the material self-paced students pay $497/year for.
- Bonus 3: “Beginners Book Package” consisting of the 7 texts we teach in the first year of the program. This package generally retails separately for $83. It will be sent to you at no additional cost simply as our way of saying THANK YOU for taking the first step. We will also cover the costs of shipping the package to you anywhere in the world.
Total savings thus far amount to $490.08
When You Choose The 6 month Membership Option, You Pay $1,287.08 $797 USD
When you click the “Add to Cart” button, you’ll notice that in addition to the 6-Month option, there’s an annual membership option with even greater savings.
If you select this annual option, then, in addition to the 3 bonuses mentioned above, you’ll get the following:
- Bonus 4: Opportunity to save an additional $500.00 by prepaying for semester 2 of year 1 at an even more generous $497 instead of $997
- Bonus 5: Life-time access to Sidi Mohtanick Jamil’s Premium Alphabet Course which is a beginner’s course on reading, writing and pronouncing Arabic, with some introduction to advanced topics. The main Shariah Program 2 Year Online Course does not cover tajweed and the basics of proper pronunciation. The Premium Alphabet Course retails for $297 and you can verify this by clicking this link. It’s being provided to you as an early-registration bonus absolutely free when you click the button below and claim your seat for the March 2012 classes.
- Bonus 6: The 8-Lesson Bonus Module which comes with the Premium Alphabet Course valued at $197. When you watch this bonus module along side the main Shariah Program videos, it will add clarity to what you learn in our first 3 weeks (the 4% of the language that gives you more than half of all benefits I spoke about above)
The savings on these last 3 bonuses amount to $994. Added to the earlier 3 bonuses, total savings are now $1,484.08
When You Choose The Annual Membership Option, You Pay $2,781.08 $1,297 USD
It goes without saying that the annual membership is the best deal, BY FAR!
So why am I offering such an insane discount just for taking the annual membership?
It’s simple: The folks that select the annual membership are acknowledging that this is a process, and not a one-time-quick-fix.
That’s a sign of maturity (as is your considering registration 5 months before the start-date), and I really respect that so I’m dropping the costs further as a sign of respect and appreciation.
But with all of that said, I know that the annual membership is not right for everyone so please don’t feel ashamed for selecting the 6-Month option. It’s still a tremendous value and you’re still smart for getting in…
YOUR THIRD OPTION is to Register as a Self-Paced Student at a one time cost of $497 for all of Year 1. This entitles you to everything I spoke about above EXCEPT live practice with the instructor. There is no discount or significant bonus with the self-paced version of the program. Everything is already bundled into the affordable $497. It works out to less than $1.50 a day. To put that into perspective, it’s less than what you pay each morning for a cup of coffee.
When You Join As A Self-Paced Student:
For Less Than $1.50 A Day, You’re In!
This self-paced version of the program is ideal if you want to test out our system through the most basic/entry-level option before committing further, or you find yourself realistically not able to commit to 2 hours per week live.
So whether you pay the full price tomorrow (or some later date) or join at the discounted rate TODAY, your membership comes with a 90-day, no-questions-asked guarantee.
Unconditional 90 Day Guarantee
You have THREE full months to try out the Shariah Program, examine the materials, use what you wish, and attend the live classes, if for any reason or even no reason, you want to withdraw from the program, simply send one email, and you will receive a full refund immediately. NO questions asked. You will not need to present any reasons for withdrawal, send anything back, fill any forms, or otherwise jump through any hoops. No hassle. No “fine print”. Simple and straightforward; you find yourself attaining your goals faster than you imagined possible or you get a full refund. And, incidentally, we’re devoted to the goal of only having satisfied students. If you’re not going to make use of the resources and the quality instruction we provide, we really would prefer that your payment be returned to you.
If you’re wondering, the refund request rate over the last 8 years, as of this writing, is well below 2%. So with this remarkably generous guarantee, you may sign up with complete confidence. All risk has been effectively removed.
Believe it or not, we also have testimonials from students who were unable to continue and requested a refund. Here is just one:
Asslamu Alaykum WaRahmatullahi WaBarakhathu,
It will be a joy to take classes in the future when I am more able (InshAllah)
but for now I just wanted to sincerely thank you for your most professional service.
A lot of companies say they have a “no-hassle” refund policy but when you try to get your
refund it is actually a very BIG hassle. That usually takes a lot of time and questions.
However, you quickly and courteously refunded my money without even one small bit of hassle.
Integrity and honesty is getting harder to find nowadays but clearly it is alive and well at the Shariah Program.
Thank you for such a superior guarantee and your great service. Jazak Allah Khair (Abdullah DeLancey)
Here’s what to do now:
Click the “Add to Cart” button right below. You will fill out a short form to choose a username and password. $797 (6 months) is the minimum commitment in order to attend the live classes from March 2012. You will be redirected to the PayPal website where you will be asked to pay via your PayPal account or credit card directly (see FAQ at the bottom of this page for other payment options, including links to installment plans).
You will then be an official student. You will get an email with detailed instructions on what to do next and how to access some of the material immediately and start right away to prepare for the March 2012 class.
*If you want to join the classes which will begin on Sunday, March 25, 2012, please choose the “Premium” version of the program. Otherwise instructions on attending the classes will NOT be emailed to you.

Have you heard what other students are saying?
- “I am a father of 9, so time is a luxury that I don’t always have. I have tried for several years to learn the Arabic language and this course has allowed me to achieve more in the past 15 months then I have in all my previous years collectively”. (Kyree Spain)
“This course, for me, was the first and only opportunity for a sister to really excel in the Arabic langauge. What I can get and have gained from this course I don’t think any sister in the world can get it elsewhere and I am sure of it.” (Safiya Bint Ahmed)
“I have been studying Arabic for a decade but seen nothing like it. There is no replacement for this in our English world. All the books written on teaching Arabic fall below par to the standard set by Shaykh Mufti Yusuf Mullan”. (Yasin Shaikh)
“I feel the spiritual benefit of it already…. (I am 63)… All these years I have studied, I thought I was just a poor learner, but I can see that what I was taught and the manner of how I was taught was inferior”. (Yousef – older student with vision and hearing limitations)
“I ought to know as I’m a university lecturer myself who also happens to teach what some take to be a difficult subject, viz. molecular biology, and moreover knows what makes a really good course and what it takes to be not just good but great teachers!” (A.M.A. Imam – PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology)
“The value for money honestly can’t be beaten. All in all simply the best online Arabic program that I know of. The students certainly believe so. Just ask us on the forum”. (alex)
“No offense to anyone who may have also done other online courses but if anyone asks me about learning Arabic I have to tell them that this course is the way to go. This is a claim I am prepared to vigorously defend too”. (Ahmad Farrall)
“Within first few weeks I realised the structure of this course meant that it was adding to everything I had been exposed to and forming a much clearer map of the language. The course has never felt boring despite my previous exposure and the students are always being stretched and steadily taken to the next level”. (Faisal Khan)
“what I covered with the Buffalo curriculum (going 5 times a week for 4 hours each day) in one year, this course covered in 3 months (being a weekend course)! Subhan’Allah” (Amina Tirmizi)
“So what makes this course great you ask. Is it the web tools, is it the powerpoint slides, is it paltalk. No! What makes this course great is the teacher. His name is Yusuf Mullan he is committed and his teaching experience has given him the ability to introduce new material at the right time so that you are never overwhelmed. He is a gift from Allah(swt) to the people and if you get a chance to study under him then my advice is don’t hesitate”. (Zarar Ismail)
“I heard about Shariah Program a few years ago and because I was doing another Arabic course, I did not start with Sharia Program. I am really glad and all praise is due to Allah that I did not put it off any longer, because what I have realized, since joining is that Sharia Program taught in 13 weeks what took 3 years+ in the other course”. (Farida)
“Last week, I heard a Khutbah after Fajr in which I understood almost everything I have heard. It was such an ecstatic moment for me in my Arabic learning…. to tell you all the truth, I was probably one of the worst students in the first 6 months… I resolved to myself that I would not only catch up but also try to be one of the best students in my class…. my family, friends and colleagues say that I am a person who is hard-to-please. Here in TSP, my experience has just been the opposite. I am pleased with the course from Day 1 till now”. (Siraj from Geneva)
